Cinema Verde proudly presents a live conversation with the talented filmmakers behind the scenes.
Liz Smith is a producer and writer focused on using media to shift perspective and create systemic change. She produces and writes for the South Florida PBS series CHANGING SEAS, for which she has won two Regional Emmys, and also co-produced the feature documentary YOUTH v GOV, available on NETFLIX. Liz has spent more than a cumulative year at sea aboard research vessels in the Pacific, Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Gulf of Mexico; and has explored 2,000-year-old shipwrecks, searched for Amelia Earhart, and worked with Dr. Robert Ballard to bring live feeds from the deep sea into the classroom. Prior to her ocean adventures, Liz produced media about astrophysics & earth science at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. She’s been a Fulbright Specialist in Science Communications, a Redford Center grantee, and holds an MFA in Science Filmmaking.

Sebastian Segura
Where Do They All Go?Sebastian Segura is a student at the University of Virginia and is studying computer science and cinematography. He focuses on both experimental and narrative short films. Sebastian explores a wide range of topics, including technology, nature, existence, and memory to name a few. For this piece, he wanted to create an environment where one has the time to enjoy the sites in front of them, only to rip it away in the end.
