Our vision is to expand the reach of environmental information to inspire, educate and engage participants in sustainable business and lifestyle solutions.
Our objective is to bring environmental awareness to our audience. Each film must be based on valid, factual information. Those with a solution orientation will be regarded most favorably. Winners will receive full-access VIP Festival Passes to all Cinema Verde screenings, workshops, parties and events. In 2011, 16 of the best submissions received original sculpture awards created by local professional artists.
All films must be submitted by September 12, 2013 (WAB extended deadline is Sept. 21). Submissions received after this date are not eligible for the contest. Films submitted by the Earlybird (May 7, 2013) and Regular Deadlines (July 5, 2013) will pay lower entry fees.
Please specify which issues are addressed in the film (food, water, waste, energy, chemical contamination, population, social justice, sustainability, animals, sustainable business, green building, etc,) as well as the category entered, on the envelope.
Foreign language films must have subtitles.
All submissions must be cinema-quality high definition DVDs. Cinema Verde will not take responsibility for returning films submitted.
Submission fees may be paid through Paypal, or by check or money order made out to Cinema Verde, mailed to Cinema Verde, P.O. Box 358711, Gainesville, FL 32635. Fees must be in US Dollars and drawn on a US bank.
We will notify winners on acceptance only. Winning submissions may not be withdrawn by the filmmaker.
Accepted films already included in the program may not subsequently be withdrawn by the filmmaker.
The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening at Cinema Verde 2013 and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Cinema Verde and the Gainesville Environmental Film and Arts Festival, Inc. from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.
